A 502 error typically arises from network issues. The gateway relies on TCP/IP communication over Ethernet or Wi-Fi, potentially affected by voltage fluctuations, signal attenuation due to cable issues, or incorrect network configuration. The gateway's embedded software requires uninterrupted communication to process transactions.
Ensure the device is unplugged from the power outlet during any cleaning or cable inspection. Avoid using liquids or aerosols near the device to prevent electrical hazards. Do NOT attempt to open or modify the device as it contains anti-tamper mechanisms that will permanently damage it. Safe Handling: Unplug the device before inspection.
Implement cable strain relief to prevent damage to the Ethernet cable. Regularly clean the exterior casing with a dry, antistatic cloth to prevent dust accumulation. Ensure the device is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating.
If the gateway uses DHCP, ensure the DHCP server is assigning the gateway a consistent IP address. Consider configuring a static IP address for the gateway to avoid IP address conflicts.
