The VEGA3000 utilizes a rechargeable lithium-ion or similar battery to maintain real-time clock (RTC) and configuration data during power outages. A short circuit or increased current draw from connected peripherals can accelerate battery discharge. Software glitches, although rare, can contribute to excessive battery use via peripheral polling or incorrect power state management. ESD events can damage the battery charging circuit.
