API 500 indicates a server-side error. A failing power supply unit (PSU) can cause unstable voltage delivery, leading to erratic server behaviour and software faults. Cold temperatures can affect the electrolytic capacitors within the PSU, reducing their efficiency and ability to provide stable power during initial startup. The EMV/NFC controller's firmware depends on stable voltage to execute secure transactions. Voltage dips or spikes can corrupt memory and disrupt API calls.
Electric shock hazard. Ensure the server is disconnected from the power source before inspecting any external connections. Do not attempt to open the power supply unit. Commercial Kiosk: Ensure the kiosk area is well-lit and free from obstructions to prevent accidents during maintenance. Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are REQUIRED for high voltage systems. Regularly inspect and clean the server’s ventilation system to prevent overheating. Implement a scheduled maintenance program to check and tighten power connectors.
