Signal attenuation from damaged cables can also interrupt data transfer, leading to errors interpreted as a need to reboot.
Do not attempt to open the terminal casing. The TIBA SW-30 is a PCI-PTS certified device and contains tamper-evident seals. Opening the casing will void the warranty and render the device unusable. Static electricity can damage the terminal's internal components. Discharge static electricity by touching a grounded metal object before handling the terminal. Ensure the work area is dry to prevent electrical shock hazards.
Regularly inspect cables for damage and strain. Clean the terminal with a dry, lint-free cloth to prevent dust buildup and static discharge. Ensure the power adapter is securely plugged into both the terminal and the power outlet. Implement cable strain relief to prevent damage to the cable connectors.
If the issue persists, try a power cycle: Unplug the terminal for at least 30 seconds, then plug it back in. This can sometimes resolve temporary software glitches. Note the frequency of reboots - does it correlate with specific times of day or environmental conditions (e.g., dry weather -> ESD)? This pattern might help pinpoint the root cause.
