Display connection failures in electronic meters often involve signal attenuation, voltage drops, or data corruption. EMV/NFC card terminals typically communicate with displays over serial (UART/RS232) or parallel interfaces. Environmental factors like temperature (-40C) can affect connector integrity and cable insulation. Static discharge (ESD) from users or coin handling (though the device should not directly handle coins) can damage display driver ICs.
Ensure the Strada Meter is disconnected from the power source before performing any inspection or maintenance. Avoid using excessive force when connecting or disconnecting cables.
