The Shopify POS Go utilizes a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi radio and a 2.4 GHz Bluetooth radio. Both operate in the ISM band, potentially causing interference. Bluetooth devices use frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) to mitigate interference, but collisions are possible. Insufficient power supplied to the POS Go or the Bluetooth scanner can also cause instability. Excessive Bluetooth connections may saturate the device's communication channels. Signal attenuation from physical obstructions can weaken both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals.
Observed network disconnections or instability on the Shopify POS Go device when connected to a Bluetooth barcode scanner. Intermittent data transmission errors may also occur. Device may exhibit slower than expected network speeds.
Safe Handling: Always unplug the Shopify POS Go from its power source before cleaning or inspecting cables. Avoid using excessive force when connecting or disconnecting cables. Static electricity (ESD) can damage electronic components. Ground yourself before handling the POS Go, especially in dry environments. Do not attempt to open the Shopify POS Go casing, as this will void the warranty and may trigger anti-tamper mechanisms. Never submerge the device in liquids.
Regularly clean the Shopify POS Go touchscreen with a dry, lint-free cloth to prevent signal degradation due to dirt or oils. If network instability persists, try connecting the Shopify POS Go to the Wi-Fi network using a 5 GHz band if your router supports it. The 5 GHz band is less prone to interference from Bluetooth devices than the 2.4 GHz band. Ensure the barcode scanner is placed at least 30 cm away from the POS Go to mitigate direct Bluetooth interference.
