The iCT250 uses an ARM9 processor and secure cryptographic modules to handle transaction processing. Unexpected void errors can stem from corrupted data in volatile memory (RAM), communication errors during transaction authorization with the payment processor (network latency, signal attenuation), or faults within the terminal's embedded software. ESD events may also corrupt the process.
Avoid using excessive force when connecting or disconnecting cables. Do not use liquids to clean the terminal's casing; use a dry, lint-free cloth. Do NOT attempt to open the terminal casing, as this will trigger anti-tamper mechanisms and permanently disable the device. Static electricity can damage the terminal's internal components; ground yourself before handling the device.
Regularly inspect and clean the terminal. Ensure proper cable management to prevent strain. Consider using a surge protector to mitigate power fluctuations. In dry environments, implement static control measures like anti-static mats and sprays. Frequently clean the touchscreen using a dry, lint-free cloth, to remove contaminants.
A common cause of intermittent errors is a slightly loose Ethernet cable. Even if the cable appears secure, try unplugging and firmly re-plugging it into both the terminal and the network switch/router. Also, check the power adapter's voltage output with a multimeter if a replacement adapter is available. In some cases, a slightly degraded adapter can cause instability.
