LPR cameras operate by capturing and processing reflected light. LED headlights, particularly those lacking proper shielding or filtering, can emit electromagnetic interference (EMI) across a broad spectrum. This EMI can induce noise within the camera's sensor or processing circuitry, exceeding the noise floor and disrupting image capture. Signal attenuation is also possible if the LED headlight output overwhelms the LPR camera's sensor, leading to saturation and a loss of detail.
