API calls to Impark servers for session management, even when the app is in the background, contribute to power drain. Inconsistent network connectivity in rugged/outdoor environments (roaming, border signal switching) forces the device to work harder to maintain a stable connection, increasing power draw.
Force-closing the Reef app after a parking session ensures that background location services are terminated, preventing further battery drain. On Android, use the 'Force Stop' option in the app settings. On iOS, double-press the home button (or swipe up from the bottom) and swipe the app away.
